Corrupt, heartless, and calculating, Castien plays with the lives of those around him as if they’re just a game. When Castien Idhron, the most powerful man in the Order, claims Eridan as his apprentice, Eridan’s confused and wary.

Eridan believes he’s an ordinary orphan, one of hundreds of initiates of the Order trying to survive in a nest of intrigue, rivalry, and corruption, but he’s more important than he knows. Separated from his family after an assassination attempt, Prince Eridan is rescued by the reclusive Order of monks who control High Hronthar, an isolated school for telepaths. And that will very much come in handy in future books *wink wink*.A master manipulator and an orphaned prince caught in his schemes: it wasn’t supposed to be a love story… Smexy happy ending? I need more! If this is your first foray into Alessandra Hazard, I can tell you 100% that they only get better as each one gets released! I found myself adjusting better to Joshua MacRae narrating this book than the first one. One caveat I’ve had with this story (and I’ve had it since the first time I read it) is the ending and how abrupt it is. And boy, do Alec and Christian burn up those pages! Despite there being an extra person in the love story, it’s not overly angsty (although slightly more than book one) and the (spoiler alert?) eventual demise of the M/F relationship isn’t drawn out and bloody, so to speak. This one is a little easier to swallow because it’s fairly clear that the smexy times revolve more around Christian and Alexander than all three of them together. In fact, I avoid them more often than not. Now, I’m not usually a big fan of books dealing with threesomes. Unfortunately for Christian, the straight guy is not only straight, but in a relationship with a classmate of theirs. Just A Bit Obsessed revolves around Shawn’s (from book one) friend Christian and the straight guy he’s crushing on.

So thrilled to find the next Straight Guys book on Audible! This can be listened to as a standalone, but characters from book one (Just A Bit Twisted) show up in this one as well.
